Cailyn’s story 2015

Crunch, crunch.

“Aw, not those pesky pixies again,” I groan, swinging out of my spider web hammock.  “or the nymphs.”Those snotty nymphs are almost as bad as the pixies. Almost.

I look in the direction of the crunching. Okay, the pixies are being more careless than usual.

“Hmm,” I wonder aloud. “whatever that is, it’s a lot larger than a pixie or a nymph.” Besides the pixies like to creep up on me. Those nasty little beasts.

Suddenly, a human stumbles through the trees surronding my clearing. How, I think. did he find my seceret clearing?

The human looks up and just stares. Finally, he stutters;

“You, you, you’re a-” he begins

“Fairy, I know.” Sometimes humans can be a little dull.

“But I thought fairies were tiny.” He says, mustering up ssome courage.

“Of course not!” can’t he see my wings? I’m not very tiny. “Only those annoying pixies are small.” He looks shocked.

“What’s your name?” I ask, fluttering my delicate gold wings, causing them to sparkle and shine in the afternoon sun.

“Phillip,” he says, still staring at me.

“Well, Phillip, I’m going to have to ask you to move.”

“Wha-, huh?” Why doesn’t he understand?

“You’re smashing my pretty petunias.” He glances down at his feet.

“Oh, sorry,” He apologizes. At least he has manners, unlike some humans. Phillip carefully steps off my petunias. “I see you really like flowers.” He says observing the flowers planted around my clearing in a perfect circle.

“Yes,” I reply, still a little wary of him.

“What are these?” Phillip asks pointing to a patch of red, gold, and orange flowers.

“Those ae sunglades.” I say, kneeling beside him.

“I’ve never seen one before, never even heard of it.”

“That’s because it can only be found in Moonglade grove.” I explain. Aparently Phillip is interested in flowers too.

“Where’s Moonglade grove?” He asks.
